Communication Options with LATTE
LATTE provides many options for instructors to communicate with their students electronically. Select the tool that meets your need most closely:
- Making announcements to the entire class
- Holding a live chat session with entire class
- Sending notices to select students
- Sending notices to a single student
For making announcements to the entire class:
Option 1: “News & Announcements” forum
- All students are subscribed by email to this forum by default. (Learn more about forum subscriptions)
- Post to this forum for subscribed students to receive the announcement in their Brandeis email.
Option 2: Quickmail
- Instructor must add Quickmail block to course. (Learn more about Quickmail)
- Select all students to receive email.
- Quickmail does not keep a record of your correspondence.
- Student replies go to the instructor's registered Brandeis email outside of LATTE.
For holding a “live” chat session open to the entire class:

For sending a notice to a select group of students:
Quickmail

- Select only those students you want receive email.
- Quickmail does not keep a record of your correspondence.
